Rosalyn Aninyei, Founder/CEO of Vesta Orchestra and Opera Foundation is a violinist
looking to create a world standard stage for the many talented performing arts professionals
in Nigeria.
Having lived in Vienna, Austria for over a decade, she was inspired by the vibrant musical
culture of the city, and returned home to Lagos, Nigeria to found the Vesta Orchestra and
Vesta Violins Instruments Workshop.
Creator of the African Classical Project, she has introduced the AfriClassical Concert Series;
A concert series comprising of mainly classical music by composers of African descent.
The African Classical Project wishes to see more African representation in classical music by
commissioning works – pieces, suites and opera – by composers of African descent, which
would be performed at the Concert Series and subsequently recorded in studio to make the
works available for purchase.
The ultimate goal of this project is to seek support locally and internationally, to found a
Lagos Opera House, where these curated African operatic works would be showcased
alongside remarkable European Opera.
Rosalyn is a graduate of International Development with a Masters in International Business.
She studied Violin at the Vienna Conservatorium School of Music under the tutelage of Prof.
Doris Köstenberger, and is currently putting together a team of competent and experienced
stakeholders to found the Lagos Opera House.
