Austin Watkins
Austin recently graduated with a master’s in accounting from Michigan State University and will be an Assurance staff member at Plante Moran starting August 2021. Austin serves as the Treasurer for Àkójọpọ̀. As Treasurer, Austin will assure the board and all donors that Àkójọpọ’s financial and bank statements, tax returns, and finances are correct. He is apart of the virtual mentorship and fundraising project teams. He helps with strategies fundraising initiatives alongside handling any documents for programming. Austin is excited about contributing to the fulfillment of Àkójọpọ̀’s mission and vision; he believes everyone should have the opportunity to learn and support aspiring musicians. In Austin’s free time, he studies for the CPA exams to help gain more knowledge about the accounting field and is eager to use the knowledge learned from the exams to help Àkójọpọ̀ accomplish their goals.
Fun Facts: I enjoy watching soccer and basketball, supporting local restaurants and shops, and reading.
